Children who were born between 1st September 1992 and 31st August 1993 will transfer to secondary school in September 2004. If your child falls into this age group and presently attends a primary school in Darlington Borough you will receive a letter asking you to express a preference for a particular school. The form provided for your reply should be returned to your child's present school by 22nd November 2004. Forms received after this date may not be accepted unless there is a good reason for them being sent in late, e.g. families who have moved into the area after the closing date. In any other circumstances such late applications will be held on a waiting list for consideration once the process has been applied to those applicants who had submitted forms by the required deadline.

Every effort will be made to ensure that your preferences are met. The Authority will, in any event, aim to offer a school place for your child during February/March 2004.
