Have several ideas going at once
You get over the barriers one hurdle at a time. You start with

Ignore anyone who doesn't want to help
I work on the theory that you have to get nine no's to get one
yes. You have to get 18 no's to get 2 yesses. Don't be afraid
to ask. Shy baby gets no cakes. That's my motto. There are lots
of doors that will open with a gentle push. Just ignore anybody
who doesn't want to help you. Keep looking until you find someone
who does.
