First off - Visit this site http://www.lsfileserv.com/ to read more about the program:

Go-to the download page at: http://www.lsfileserv.com/support/download/

Scroll down until you see AD-AWARE STANDARD EDITION
currently at Version 6

Select one of the sites to download the software from, we selected
Ad-aware 6 from tucows | 1.45 mb

Select from the list you version/ operating system
Win 98, Win NT, Win 2k, Win Me or Win XP
and follow the next screen/s.

Once you've reached the Download screen select 'Save'

Save the program file to your desktop.

Tip - We suggest, if you have not already, that you create a new folder on your system or even on your desktop and call it Downloads
You can then easily save downloaded programs to it, and have the confidence to know where program files are should you ever need to re-install them.

Once completed you will have this icon in the location you saved the file to:

(Or which ever version the program is currently at)

Double click on it and follow the install instructions.
Once the program is installed you will have this icon on your desktop:

Double click on it to run the program.

Tip, We suggest, if you have not already, that you create a new folder on your system or even on your desktop and call it Downloaded Program Files - you can then easily find and run downloaded programs from it, and have the confidence that you know where all your downloaded program files are when you need to run them again. You could even drag the icon into the toolbar at the bottom of your screen as we have.
(Saves having a cluttered desktop!)

The program starts thus:

Select, Start then next.
Ad-Aware will now check your system folders by performing a deep-scan, if any spy-ware programs are found ad-aware can easily remove them.

And that's it!
