• Go to Tools and click Accounts on the menu.
• Make sure that you are on the News tab. At this time delete any news accounts that you are no longer using by highlighting the account and clicking Remove on the right side of the window.
• Click Add, then News...
• The wizard will prompt you for your name, type in your name. Click Next.
• It asks for an e-mail address, enter an e-mail address.
• It is now asking for the Internet News Server Name, type in "***the newsgroup***" (without the quotes). Un-check the box next to My news server requires me to log on. Click Next.
• The wizard should tell you that you have successfully entered your account. Click Finish. Click Close.
• It will ask you if you want to download newsgroups, click Yes.
• Outlook Express will now download a list of newsgroups from the server. This may take several minutes.
• If you know the name of the newsgroup that you want to subscribe to type it in below Display newsgroups which contain:, otherwise type in a subject you wish to find a newsgroup on.
• Highlight the newsgroup you wish to subscribe to and click Subscribe on the right side of the window.
• To download messages for that group, click Go To.
