| Parental Address | ||||||
| The parental address is used for applying the admissions criteria. This means that when you state your school preference you must give the parental address at the time of application. You must not give the address of childminders or other family members who may share in the care of your child. For parents who may have more than one property, reference should only be made to the property in which they and the child(ren) mainly reside. Also where parents are separated and the child lives for periods with both, then the parental address will be that property at which, during the school year, the child for the most part resides. If the main address has changed temporarily, for example where a parent resides with extended family during a period of sickness or takes temporary accommodation due to building works/renovation, then the parental address remains that at which the parent was resident before the period of temporary residence began. However, if you have sold your property (exchanged contracts) and move into temporary accommodation, then you will be required to provide evidence of your situation and a decision will be made based upon the evidence provided. Any permanent change of address during the period from receipt of application to the offer being made must be notified to us immediately as this may affect the admission offer made to your child. In the event of a change of address affecting the application for your child to attend an over-subscribed school, the LEA will request a letter from a licensed conveyancer or a solicitor's letter confirming exchange of contracts. The Authority reserves the right to withdraw any offer made on the basis
of an inaccurate or misleading address. It is important that you notify us in writing of any change in circumstances which would affect the offer of a school place, including a change in preference or an intention to move out of the Authority or place your child at an Independent School.
