All pupils are expected to attend school appropriately dressed. To assist parents, some schools have adopted guidelines on clothing. Information regarding uniform policies can be found in a school's prospectus available from the school concerned. The Authority does not make any grants towards the provision of school uniforms or other clothing for pupils. Parents who are in real difficulties over the purchase of clothing for pupils may find that other agencies could help in certain circumstances. Both the Department of Social Security and Social Services Department have the discretion to make either grants or budget loans, but will only do so in exceptional circumstances.
